Jama Masjid or Masjid-I-Jahan Numa. Built by Shah Jahan between 1650-1656 AD.
The mosque was inaugurated by Imam Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukhari, from Bukhara, Uzbekistan, on 23 July 1656, on the invitation from Shah Jahan. About 25,000 people can pray in the courtyard at a time .The mosque is commonly called “Jama” which means Friday
After the British victory in the Revolt of 1857, they confiscated the mosque and stationed their soldiers there. They also wanted to destroy the mosque as an act of punishment to the city. But due to opposition faced, the demolition was not done.
The iconic mosque is one of the last monuments built under Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. After the construction of the monument in 1656, it remained the royal mosque of the emperors until the end of the Mughal period.

The cabinet located in the north gate has a collection artefact of Muhammad – the Quran written on deerskin, a red beard-hair of the prophet, his sandals and his footprints embedded in a marble block

When we entered inside, the beautiful image of the mosque was the first thing that caught our eyes upon . People surrounded by were doing wazu (cleaning their hands and feet) from the pond before offering namaz. Tall minaret towers and protruding domes, which can be seen for miles around, are distinctive features of the Jama Masjid. The view from the top of the minarets were remarkable and enchanting.

•The contrast between the mosque that one witness through their own sight is way more exhilarating than the one we witness in pictures or movies .
•Moreover foreigners been scrutinized for wearing Indian Libas Or dresses, males were seen wearing lungis and females wearing burkhas according to Indian culture.
•Visitors are required to take off their shoes inside the mosque and to carry it in their hands. Making tiktok videos are strictly prohibited inside the mosque.


They will demand a hefty fee if you accept their services, so it’s better to ignore them. Likewise, if you give to the beggars, there are many more who will swarm around you and demand money.
The area outside the mosque really comes alive at night during the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims break their daily fast. Special food walking tours are conducted.
On Eid-ul-Fitr, at the end of Ramadan, the mosque is packed to capacity with devotees who come to offer special prayers.

Last but not the least . Also, the picture of the child playing with water itself describes the peacefulness and enthusiasm that one could assimilate simply by realising the fact that a child is the perfect figure of a God, full of innocence and unbiased towards any religious practices or differences.
